LFP parents, students, or staff are welcome to submit nominations.
You may nominate more than one person for either or both award.
Whether you’ve been at LFP for years, just unpacked your moving boxes, or are stepping into the world of kindergarten for the very first time — we’re so happy you’re here! You’re officially part of a community that thrives on connection, creativity, and a good dose of fun.
Here’s the scoop: every year, our PTA pulls off a lineup of (mostly free!) events, programs, and services that make our school shine.
Your PTA membership gives you a voice and a vote in how we support our school, and it sends a powerful message that you believe in our community. The more members we have, the louder our voice — and the stronger our network of support is.
That said, membership dues alone can’t fund all the magic. Most of that fee goes straight to local, state, and national PTA organizations (we love them, but they don’t pay for our popcorn). This year, with lower school enrollment, it’s costing us more than we anticipated — over $260 per student for the PTA to operate. That’s where family support comes in — and it’s what makes possible all the awesome programs below (and MANY more):
Staff Appreciation ($2,000/year) shows our staff and teachers the love they deserve.
Movie Nights ($850/year) are free nights for the whole family to enjoy free popcorn and a movie with their community.
Art Docent ($3,000/year) – Without a school-led art program, our volunteers and PTA funds give each student access to art all year.
Science Discovery Night ($3,000) is a totally free, hands-on STEAM extravaganza for the whole family and one of our most popular events of the year.
Back-to-School BBQ ($1,250) – The PTA serves up free dinner, a DJ, and back-to-school excitement all in one delicious evening.
One Book, One School ($3,100) gives every student a copy of the same book for a school-wide reading adventure — complete with daily discussions and shared discoveries.
The Lake Forest Park Elementary Parent Teacher Association (LFP PTA) supports our teachers, families and school through community-building events, classes, services and more. Our organization is part of the National PTA, Washington State PTA and the Shoreline PTA Council.
PTAs address issues that are important to parents and public school administrators. We fight for full funding, quality teachers, and capabilities for schools to thrive. PTAs track local, state and national policies every day so we can advocate for what’s best for our students, families and schools. PTAs link families to important school and community information.
When you join the LFP PTA, you are supporting these initiatives. As our membership increases, so does our voice. Becoming a member does not commit you to volunteering or participating. By becoming a member you are expressing your belief in the importance of our schools, our students and our community.

Dolphins brains are large and complex. They make plans together and cooperate with one another. They form stable communities. They demonstrate complex emotions such as happiness, sadness and grief. They can assess situations and problem solve.
Dolphins have senses of empathy, altruism and attachment. They are creative and playful creatures, and seem to enjoy playing and seek the companionship of others. They will work together to take care of injured or sick pod mates.
We are proud to call ourselves Dolphins and as the PTA, we strive to provide resources to encourage our students to learn new ways to problem solve through student enrichment, form stable communities through events, and work together as a community through advocacy.
